INTERMEDIATE FLY TYING CLASS - SOFT HACKLES & WET FLIES FOR TROUT & BASS
with NH Guide Dave Kolesar

Saturday - MARCH 14th, 2026 - 11:00am to 4:00pm

OVERVIEW: Quintessential classics indeed, traditional Soft Hackles and Wet Flies remain a wise and deadly choice for many anglers and guides. In this class, we will learn to tie some long proven favorites that have been fooling trout and salmon for centuries. Equally effective when tied in larger sizes for smallmouth and largemouth bass too, this class will focus on the materials and tying techniques used to craft these must have fly patterns.

GOAL: Participants will be able to tie a selection of effective soft hackles and wet flies for trout/salmon. They will also gain experience in various fly tying techniques, selecting and handling materials to tie effective patterns and how to present these patterns to the fish. The class will concentrate on flies used by NH guides for fooling trout.

PREREQUISITES: Students must be 14 years old or older. An intermediate level of fly-tying experience and skill is required for this class. Please bring your personal vice and tools if desired, though a vice and tools can be furnished with advance notice. All materials required to tie the hosted flies in class will be provided.

CLASS SIZE: 10 MAX
