INTERMEDIATE FLY TYING CLASS - FEATHERED FLATWINGS with Joe Cordeiro

OVERVIEW: Join us as we host renowned local fly tier and fishing guide Joe Cordeiro as he leads, demonstrates, and instructs how to craft a variety of these quintessential Northeast favorites! A comprehensive introduction focused on the fundamentals of flatwing style flies, this class will cover three different patterns including: the single feather flatwing, a multi-feather flatwing, and a palmered-flatwing too.
GOAL: At the end of this class, participants should be able to identify the materials required, and perform the sequential steps necessary to tie single, multi-feather, and palmered versions of these dynamite deadly fresh/saltwater streamers.
PREREQUISITES: Students must be 15 years old or older. An intermediate to advanced level of fly-tying experience and skill is required for this class. Please bring your personal vice and tools if desired, though a vice and tools can be furnished with advance notice. All materials required to tie the hosted flies in class will be provided.

About The Instructor Joe Cordeiro has been tying flies for over 25 years. The past 10 years focusing on teaching, presenting at shows and marketing saltwater flies. Joe has been fishing his entire life growing up near Cape Cod. Fly fishing has been his main focus for many years. His saltwater fly patterns have been tested in waters for their imitation of the bait they mimic. Many of his patterns are lifelike imitations. The materials used are natural and add to the authenticity of the product. Joe's style and tying technique have caught the attention and admiration of many seasoned fly tiers and his passion for the art is evident. Fly tying is not just a hobby for this man, it is a passion. He currently guides out of Scituate, MA from shore and travels the cape and the islands in search of fish.
