OVERVIEW: Join us as we host local fly tier and fly fishing guide Justin Laffin from NH On The Fly as he leads, demonstrates, and instructs how to craft one of today's most dynamite and deadly patterns for predatory gamefish: The Feathered Game Changer!
GOAL: At the end of this class, participants should be able to identify the materials required, and perform the sequential steps necessary to tie articulated Game Changer style flies.
PREREQUISITES: Some basic fly-tying experience and skill is required. Please bring your personal vice and tools if desired, though a vice and tools can be provided with advance notice. All materials required to tie the hosted fly in class will be provided.
About The Instructor
Justin Laffin is a 16 year veteran law enforcement officer in Claremont, New Hampshire whose passion for fly fishing that started when he was just eighteen years old. Recently in the summer of 2021, Justin became a licensed NH fishing guide and is now in the early stages of setting up his professional guiding business NH On The Fly, which will focus on his all time favorite species - the Smallmouth Bass! A talented and experienced fly tier who specializes in streamers patterns, Justin's grasp and knowledge of the articulated Game Changer platform has proven invaluable to his success as an angler, and he is eager to share the tips and techniques he's learned to achieve the proper taper and swimming action of this deadly style of fly.
