Cowen's Magnum Baitfish - Blue / White
Fast proving a favorite from mid-coast Maine to Montauk Point and everywhere in between, Henry Cowen's versatile Magnum Baitfish series is especially effective from early spring through late fall when the annual run of adult river herring, alewives, shad, adult menhaden (a.k.a. pogie, bunker, etc) have returned to our Northeastern seashores. A big meaty mouthful that no trophy sized striper, bluefish, or small tuna can resist, Cowen's Magnum Baitfish is best cast using a long heavy sink-tip fly line and fished using an erratic, fast-stripped retrieve.
Finished fly measures approximately 5 - 6 inches long, and is dressed on a premium razor-sharp stainless-steel hook.
