BASIC FLY TYING CLASS - NHFG LET'S GO FISHING PROGRAM

OVERVIEW: Always wanted to tie your own flies, but didn't know where to start? Then join us as we host a FREE Basic Fly Tying Class in partnership with NH Fish and Game's Let's Go Fishing Program! An introductory level class aimed at rank beginners with little to no fly tying skill or experience, this FREE course will touch on all the basics. Participants will learn to tie several fly patterns that are commonly used in New Hampshire waters, and will be introduced to the use of all of the basic tools and materials necessary to tie flies. We will also learn what the flies imitate, with discussion on insect anatomy, and explain why a particular fly is used.
GOAL: At the end of this class, participants will leave with a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of fly tying. While none will depart an expert, students WILL know whether they want to pursue this hobby any further.
PREREQUISITES: You must be at least 15 years of age to participate! No previous experience or skill is required. All materials, equipment, and tools needed for the session will be provided.
