Program Overview
The Stone River Outfitters Recycling Program converts your old gear into new. If you're like us, you've accumulated an arsenal of rods and reels, that for the most part, are collecting dust. Instead of having quality gear just taking up space, allow us to offer it to anglers looking for previously used fly fishing gear. After we sell it, we deduct auction fees and issue you the rest in the form of a Stone River Outfitters Gift Card. The store credit is good towards anything we carry and can be held onto for as long as you'd like. There are no hidden fees or charges for our service. We simply deduct what we are charged to auction, and issue you the rest. Final auction prices are based on trust. How to Participate
- Contact Nate at 1-800-331-8558 or e-mail him with a brief description of the items you'd like to submit. Upon approval, you'll be forwarded a program form.
- Make sure that the form is complete and then ship us your items. We recommend fully insuring your shipment.
- When all your item(s) have been sold, a Stone River Outfitters Gift Card will be mailed to you.
Listing Process
When your item(s) arrives it will be inspected and logged into a database. A physical file will also be created. The item will receive some standard maintenance if necessary. High resolution photographs are taken and then professionally edited with graphic design software. This editing allows us to size, crop, focus, and adjust photos so they more accurately represent your item. Item research is conducted if necessary, and a thorough item description written. Included in this description is a detailed summary of your item's condition. We then take the photos and the description and integrate it into the Ebay interface where it is presented for auction.
Converting to Credit
Typically, when an item is listed for auction, an initial insertion fee and final value fee are charged by Ebay. The Ebay community predominantly uses PayPal to broker transactions. PayPal charges a fee for this service. We combine these fees and deduct them from your item's sale value. That's it. We charge you nothing for our service! The remainder is issued to you in the form of a Stone River Outfitters Gift Card. This is store credit, good towards the purchase of any new fly fishing or fly tying gear we carry!
