Maybe you’ve been eyeing a new fly reel, or perhaps a new fly fishing vest, but you just don’t quite have the dough right now to make it your own. Maybe you already have a closet full of seldom used fly rods at home and simply don’t have the room for that new 6 weight. Or perhaps, as we most often hear, your last fly fishing purchase put you on such thin ice with your non-fishing spouse that you dare not aggravate an already tense situation!

Stone River Outfitters Recycling Program

That’s right, recycling! We, with the help of eBay, are going to help you "recycle" your old, no-longer needed or wanted fly fishing equipment into credit towards new gear!

Here’s how it works. Bring or ship (approval required in advance) us your old, unwanted fly fishing gear and we’ll gladly inspect it, then clean and dress it up to as close to original condition as possible. Using our shop’s multi-media tools and software, we will then shoot a series of professional, high quality photographs depicting your item.

Utilizing our staff’s expert knowledge of fly fishing equipment, combined with whatever testimony you can give about the item’s service history, we will compose a detailed narrative describing your item, its components and capabilities, and its general condition.

We will then host your item, complete with pictures and description, in a 5-day public auction on eBay where it can be bid upon by thousands of potential buyers worldwide!

When the auction closes, we will safely package and ship your item directly to the winning bidder, at no cost or trouble to you!

Following the completed transaction, we then convert your item’s total sale price, minus only the fees associated with Ebay and Paypal usage policies, into usable store credit! Issued in the form of a Stone River Outfitters Gift Card, this credit is redeemable immediately towards the purchase of brand new fly fishing gear! You are free to use your Gift Card with us on-line, by telephone via our catalog, or in person here at our store. It’s your money -- you choose when, where, and how you want to spend it!

That’s it, plain and simple! There are no hidden shop fees or unseen surcharges within our Recycling Program, period! It would cost you the same to list and sell your item yourself, but now you don’t have to! Simply give us your old, unwanted gear and we’ll take care of the rest!
